Binsteed Community Camp

Every summer Sue Jupp, the founder of BCS, takes some of the children on a mini-holiday, giving parents a chance to relax. Over the years Sue and the stuff have taken the children to various different places such as Cornwall, New Quay and now Hayling Island. It is in these places that the children get to go on many different trips and experience things that perhaps they usually wouldn't in everyday life, such as: going horse riding, going to the disco at the holiday park with their friends (under supervision), going swimming everyday, going to the beach or large theme parks. Also on these trips the children are given the chance to become more independent, they are allowed to spend their 'tuck -shop allowance' on what they please and are taught that when their money is gone, it is gone so they must spend it carefully. These trips also allow children to form bonds with other children that they may usually not speak to, whether it be through the journey up there or the fact that they're sharing a room together.
